Raglan Public House

Welcome to Raglan Public House—a delightful New Zealand-inspired eatery nestled in the heart of Ocean Beach, San Diego. Located at 1851 Bacon St, this vibrant cafe has quickly become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors. With its charming décor and inviting atmosphere, Raglan Public House offers a culinary journey that reflects the rich flavors of New Zealand while maintaining a relaxed coastal vibe.

As I stepped inside, I was immediately struck by the café's lively energy and friendly ambiance. The well-decorated exterior sets the tone for a casual dining experience where families and friends can gather to enjoy delicious food and drinks. Whether you’re catching up with friends or treating the kids to a special meal, Raglan caters to all. Its kid-friendly menu, featuring options like the Kid Cheeseburger and Buttered Noodles, ensures there's something for everyone under 12.

  • Highlighting the Munchies: The Tomato Basil Soup paired with a grilled cheese sandwich is divine, while the Natural Ground Turkey Chili packs a flavorful punch with its chipotle sour cream and tortilla chips.
  • The Burger Collection: The Wagyu Smash Burger features two juicy patties that make for a mouthwatering delight. Don't miss out on the Large Mac, which allows you to customize your protein choice, making it a versatile favorite for burger lovers.

Customer reviews echo my sentiments, with many praising the matchstick fries as some of the best around. Amelia Lam raved about their special deals, which are perfect for a satisfying lunch without breaking the bank. The ambiance feels both cozy and energetic, enhanced by the tunes of the 70s and 80s playing in the background, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience. However, some patrons noted that service can occasionally be slow during peak hours, a minor hiccup in an otherwise fantastic outing.

For those who love to unwind in the fresh air, Raglan’s patio seating is a must-try. With ample space and a cute setup, it’s an ideal spot to sip on one of their strong whiskey cocktails or a refreshing house lager while enjoying the sun. Raglan Public House is more than just a restaurant; it’s a community hub where laughter, good food, and happy memories are always on the menu.

In conclusion, if you’re seeking a unique culinary adventure in San Diego, look no further than Raglan Public House. With its delicious dishes that showcase the best of New Zealand cuisine, it's a place that invites everyone to come together and indulge in the joyful spirit of dining. So, grab some friends, bring the family, and prepare to enjoy a delightful meal that celebrates flavor and fellowship!

Super cute and well decorated exterior. I loved the lunch deal of a burger and fries for 15 and 5 for a house lager. The matchstick fries were so good and well seasoned and the wagyu burger was delicious. They seem to have a lot of deals throughout the week and happy hour specials. Patio is super cute and comfy and plenty of seating

When we first went, my husband had the fish and chips, and I had the steak frites. We went for a late lunch. They were both delicious!! We went back for dinner the next night, and we both ordered the steak frites. Delicious as before. We also ordered a pretzel, and it was awesome. The only complaint is that they had the space heater on the ceiling set too high. Even one of the other patrons had to take off their coat. When we left, my back was VERY HOT.

Just happened to notice this in Ocean Beach and walked in. Nice vibe. Reasonable prices. Whiskey drink was strong. Wagyu burgers were tasty. The thin cut French fries were especially good. Derive was courteous and food came out fast. Playing 70-80’s music. Restrooms were clean.
